The show gives unique access to the host of issues student athletes face, and goes deep into the ambition many of the players have to move into Division 1 football programs. It focuses on the students - many of whom are highly touted as players, but deal with challenges on and off the field - as they attempt to keep up their performance both on the team and in the classroom in order to remain eligible. One of TV's best sports docuseries, every season of Last Chance U follows a different junior college football program across the U.S. Alice in Borderlandįor fans of: Squid Game, manga, puzzles that kill you if you don't solve them ![]() (Though it's not as weird as his previous show, Amazon's truly off-the-wall Too Old to Die Young.) The slow-paced and self-consciously arty show is not for everyone, but if it is for you, it's really for you. This is about as non-commercial a project as Netflix does anymore, so it's worth watching just as something different on the increasingly homogenous streaming service. Even when he fails, he fails in a style all his own. Refn is a rare contemporary filmmaker who's willing to take genuine artistic risks that sometimes don't pay off but are always distinctive. It follows a taciturn, supernaturally gifted young woman named Miu ( Angela Bundalovic) as she goes on a revenge mission through Copenhagen's violent, neon-lit underworld.
